haiku 03/24/2008

Went to bed late last
night and had to get up for
work bright and early.

Tired aaaaall day! Need
a rest after my rest! Five
whole days this work week.

Worked on haiku book
more tonight - almost done. Worked
on newsletter, too.

Hopefully more sleep
this eve, a fewer yawnies
tomorrow. Night night!

haiku 03/23/2008

Last day of extra
long weekend. Boo! Today's the
day for chore-like stuff.

Dishes, groceries...
laundry? We'll see. Dinner, too.
Easter Day tacos!

Haiku Volume 2
is shaping up nicely. Lots
of little changes.

Printed colored proofs.
Colors are going to look
great! Fun! Flowery!

Won't be ready to
publish tonight. Hopefully
in the next few days.

haiku 03/22/2008

Uh oh! Duke lost! Don't
dear yet to venture downstairs,
but I heard a noise.

So, I think he must
be okay! Hopefully he
will come upstairs soon.

Five o'clock! Had a
little snack. Now it's about
time to catch a nap.

Alright! Two-thirty
a.m. Race starts pretty soon.
Wide awake... for now.

My pool picks suffered
some major hits earlier
this eve. No big shock.

Gafaffle on track
during quali - Lewis dropped
five spots on the grid.

Four to nine - mid-pack.
Hope he can pass any Lap
One, Turn One shake up.

Spring's here! But today
saw some sleet and snow - not much.
Pretty chilly now.

(In the living room.)
Drinking tea to help keep warm,
wrapped in a blankie.

Spent more time on Vol.
2.
Hope to publish, order
by end of Sunday.

Dexter Season Two
wrapped up. Lila was nuts, and
feel bad about Doakes.

Great show, great season.
New eps this year. Decided
Dex is not that cute.

Uh-oh, starting to
feel sleepiness creeping in.
I must not lie down.

Okay... well.... laid down
and dozed off for a short time.
Didn't miss too much.

Came upstairs and got
ready for bed - will watch the
rest (four laps, now) here.

The next race is in
two weeks, back at the normal
time - seven a.m.

Looks to be Kimi's
race! Passed Massa awhile
back, and that was that!

(Something seems to have
happened to Massa while I
was out - don't know what.)

One lap left - Kimi
first, Lewis fifth. Freddy who?
Woohoo, Kimi's won!

Four-thirty. Nap woke
me up, but should be able
to fall back to sleep.

(My haiku sure have
become rambling, huh? More for
me to read later :)

More than halfway through
this notebook! Not sure which one
I'll use next. Razz Fizz??

Okay, lights out, for
real. Kimi's anthem playing.
Good night, everyone!

haiku 03/21/2008

Is today Friday?
Saturday? Sunday? Who knows!
Went to Weight Watchers.

Got it done - won't go
tomorrow. Can sleep in! What
to do with my day?

Hubby off to a
friend's. I think I'll start with lunch.
What will the day hold?

So far, the day has
held a long nap and a big
tourney upset. Mine!

Second big upset -
this time in hubby's favor.
Very good first round.

Worked on Haiku Vol.
2.
Mid-Sept thru mid-Nov.
Ready for proofing.

Two a.m. - time for
Quali! Let's home Kimi does
better than last week.

Kimi, Lewis - both
into Quali 3. Still up!
Thirty minutes left.

Proofed Haiku Vol 2.
Small changes to make. Trying
something different.

Using backgrounds with
flower patterns - colored, too.
Hope it looks okay.

Watched some Dexter when
not watching b-ball. Season
Two - good! Two eps left.

Mass on pole. But
Kimi's next to him. Lewis
is the second row.

Very late! Time to
hit the hay. Think I'll sleep in
a bit come morning.

haiku 03/20/2008

First day of Tourney!
Worked out, hung out in office.
Terry got great snacks.

Worked on blog updates
while watching games. One of my
sheets is doing fine.

Eight games still to go
tonight. Lost comes on soon. I'm
patiently waiting.

Hubby's hollering
at the Duke players. I wish
they would just listen!

Lost was good. Aaron
IS one of the O-Six. No
new until April.

Woke up for woot and
practice. Watched some of practice
and then went to sleep.

haiku 03/16/2008

Yesterday marked the
start of my eighth month of this
wee haiku project.

Worked on updating
my blog tonight - fallen a
little bit behind.

Had a nice morning.
Slept in 'til eight - woke up and
read. Breakfast in bed.

Finished The Double
Bind
(was good) and then napped. Got
up and used new sneaks.

Very relaxing!
Not my usual Sunday :)
Four-day weekend soon...

Catching up - 03/16/2008

Happy almost St. Patrick's Day :) I am going to try to get my haiku caught up - at least some of it - starting with February 19th. I hadn't realized it's been almost a month... may not get it all done tonight. Will try!

Edit: Posted through 03/02/2008. Not bad!
Edit 03/18: Almost caught up! Then, happy list??

haiku 03/15/2008

First F1 race of
the year! Australia. Started at
twelve-thirty a.m.

Really, it's Sunday,
but I haven't slept, so it
counts as Saturday :)

Kimi started in
fifteen, but was to eighth by
the end of lap one.

(Weight Watchers, hair cut,
errands today. Bought P.J.
pants in Razz Fizz! Cute!

Maintenance tonight.
Not too bad. Made small booboo.
Whoops. Well, it happens.)

Kimi in third. We're
thirty-five laps in. Should change
tyres, gas-up, soon.

(Wore Do the Math to
work. Received Cool Breeze. Will wear
the Unicorn soon.

Bought new running shoes
at the mall. Brooks. Pretty blue
and white. Feel good, too.)

Kimi still hasn't
pitted. Race half way done. Oh
no! He over-breaked.

Starting to get a
wee bit sleepy. Can't lie down!
Must stay sitting up.

So... decided that
lying down wasn't too bad...
and dozed off, of course.

Missed a bit - awoke
for the interviews. Kimi
didn't reach the end.

Exciting for a
first race. Malaysia is soon.
Next weekend, in fact!

haiku 03/14/2008

Another long day!
A week full of them. So glad
to see the weekend.

Qualifying is
tonight at eleven. Can
I stay up that late?

Um... not so much. Dozed
on the couch. Woke up after
one and watched it then.

Kimi near the back -
some sort of issue. Didn't
get out of Q2.

Thursday, March 13, 2008

haiku 03/13/2008

Been a kind of bland
week. Not much going on. Not
much to write about.

First F1 practice
tonight. Eleven p.m.
in Oz. Before bed!

Kimi is still with
Ferrari, but Freddie's back
with Renault. Go K!

Oceanic 6.
Now we know five. The last one?
Quite the mystery.

haiku 03/12/2008

Long day. Six-thirty
to five-thirty. It didn't drag,
though! That's a good thing.

haiku 03/11/2008

Finished hiring
for the two slots at work. Got
two quality guys.

Staff meeting was sort
of long. Carpooled for a change.
Happy to get home.

haiku 03/10/2008

Think it's going to
be a long work week. Started
to read Double Bind.

haiku 03/09/2008

Room service was so
fun last night that I had it
again this a.m.!

Quesadilla and
berries and coffee. Food brought
to me - I love it :)

Live model shoot in
class today! Kind of chaos -
not really my thing.

Also, a "mentor"
from my Vermont Trek this May
spoke to us today!

He was very good -
funny and interesting.
Great tips and stories.

Stopped at the mall - found
some cute Jibbitz for our Crocs.
Had a pretzel, too.

Happy to get home!
Don't like being away from
hubby for too long.

haiku 03/08/2008

I predict a long
entry for today. Lots
to haiku about!

First. Woot. Shirts. Have I
mentioned Woot shirts? Vandalized
Turtle
? Swim Nessie?

A new shirt at 1
each morning. On the weekend,
they're contest winners.

This weekend, there were
two I wanted. And today
they went together.

And sold out in ten
minutes. And I didn't check
until one-thirty.

So, I missed them. Argh!
Two for ten! Now it will be
two for thirty. Sigh.

Off to photo class
in Annapolis. Staying
at the Sheraton.

(That's where the class is.)
First day for beginners. But,
I'll learn stuff, I'm sure.

Lunch at the mall. What
a nice mall! Lots of great stores.
A whole Crocs kiosk!

No time today to
look at Jibbitz - tomorrow
I'll go back to look!

Learned a few good things
in class. But ready for a
nap. Checked into room.

Nice room. Nice hotel.
Bed linens look comfy (my
first criteria :)

Just hanging out. Free
wifi rules. Set up 'puter,
brought out camera.

Room service for grub!
Sandwich, soup, fries, cake, wine. Not
cheap. But very good!

Quality service
here. Very pleasant. Nice soaps
in the loo, also.

Got up early this
morning. Probably early
to bed, tonight. And...

Daylight Saving is
tonight. We lose an hour.
So early this year!

Watching 'Pider Pig'
(The Simpsons) on my laptop.
Lots of funny stuff!

That's it. Going to
get ready to sleep tight - by
myself! All alone!

haiku 03/07/2008

Happy half birthday
to me!! Thirty-three
is six months away!

The work week almost
didn't end. Endless. On and
on. And on. Done now.

Getting ready for
trip to Annapolis this
weekend. Leave in morn.

haiku 03/06/2008

On a chilli night,
one of the nicest things is
to stand by an oven.

In front of it, with
the door cracked open and the
hot air rushing out.

Watching Lost. Missing
two of the Oceanic
Six. Who will they be?

Just had an idea:
"Katharine Juliet Barnes."
Hubby will hate it.

Someday, we will need
to agree! Or, "Katharine
Audrie"? I like that :)

haiku 03/05/2008

Interviewing at
work for the two positions. Two
interviews today.

Already had two,
two more to go. Decision
by Monday, I hope.

Had gross chili for
dinner. Was supposed to be
good. Wasn't the case.

Watching new T.V.
show: New Amsterdam. Not sure
how it's gonna be.

haiku 03/04/2008

I had about one
million meetings today.
They went on and on.

Working on tax stuff
tonight. Don't seem to have my

Looks like our return
will be healthy again this
year. Would like that form!

Leisurely breakfast.
Off to the mall, found tiny
turtle baby clothes!

To the hospital
to see Ben, Jo, and Jac-Jac.
Jo feeling better.

Nice visit again
today. Everyone relaxed.
Au Bon Pain for lunch.

Hate to say bye! Must
return home. On the road... watched
TV, movies, read.

Nice drive, very smooth.
Home around eight. Time to chill
on the comfy couch.

Left early, headed
to Jersey. Wee Julian
awaits our visit.

Full head of hair, strong
and healthy! Happy to be
held, loves to snuggle.

Wonderful to see
the Chapmans. They are so far
away from us now. :(

After visiting,
checked into the hotel, hung
out for a short time.

Macaroni Grill
for dinner. Love their fresh bread!
Off to a movie.

The Other Boleyn
Girl
. Terry's choice! It was good.
Need to read the book.

Uploaded first set
of Julian pics. New lens
is a champ. Hurray!

Welcome wee Chapman!
Julian Aiman, Leapling!
9 lbs, 8 oz.

Headed to Jersey
tomorrow to visit the
little family.

Does Julian and
Charlotte Chapman sound good to
you? It does to me!

Today is Leap Day!
Should be a holiday, with
a big, fun party.

Oooh, swim Nessie, swim!
Tonight's Woot shirt is just the
cutest little shirt.

I even did next-
day delivery so I
can sooner have it.

Thursday, February 28, 2008

haiku 02/28/2008

Rough work day. They don't
happen much, so I can't whine
about it too much.

Hubby brought us home
Chipotle for dinner, with
some surprise cheesecake!

Should be the last day
of the month, but it's not. Leap
Day is tomorrow!

Wednesday, February 27, 2008

haiku 02/27/2008

Waiting for my Leap
Day shirt to arrive from Woot.
Not in time, I fear :(

Found out about a
new lens for my camera.
Ordered it online.

Should have it for the
weekend. I.S. version of
kit lens - good reviews!

Setting up new hard
drive. Old-new drive made some wee
bad clicking noises.

While re-installing
apps, watched Notes on a Scandal.
Very good movie!

I like Cate Blanchett
a lot. Pretty, talented,
and trés versatile.

My cake is yummy!
The strawberry really adds
a tasty surprise.

Work outing to a
bakery today! CakeLove -
cake decorating.

Assembled a six-
inch cake - white and chocolate
cakes - four layers tall.

Chocolate butter-
cream, with a few strawberries
stuffed in the middle.

Learned lots of good cake
assembling tips. Chill and clean
the cake. Clean? Who knew?

Oscar soirée day!
Making fun (?) food including
ratatouille! Strange?

Also, chili and
cornbread and "Surf's Up Crab Dip."
And a frou-frou drink.

It all took a long
time to prepare - but seemed to
turn out okay, I think.

Bill brought two yummy
desserts. Chocolate bells - they
where perfectly shaped!

The Oscars were fine.
Kinda long, but Jon Stewart
was funny, I thought.

Terry, luckily,
won our pool. Thank god! He's not
that fond of losing.

The swag bag (basket)
went over well. And we got
ones, too! Fun fun fun.

Saturday, February 23, 2008

haiku 02/23/2008

Hosting Oscar night
party tomorrow. Today
shopped for swag bag treats.

Found all sorts of fun
little things. Not quite the same
as the real ones, thogh.

But, fun, I hope! Watched
Michael Clayton. Haven't seen
many of the noms.

It was good - drama
with some suspense. Well acted.
Clooney's a cutie.

haiku 02/20/2008

Last day off. Back to

Donated blood. No
big deal - should do it often.
Watched Deja Vu, too.

Watched Deja Vu, too.
And Waitress, which was very
good! I like movies.

Memory for new
laptop arrived! It's a much
happier machine.

haiku 02/19/2008

I love days off! But,
I keep doing stuff around
the house - not relaxing.

Cleaning and laundry,
and dishes and fixed a prob
with the toilet, too.

Tomorrow, I am
only hanging out! And blood-
donating. C'est tout!

New case and mouse have
arrived! Case fits, mouse is cute
and Flamingo Pink.

Intercepted it en route
to work for Tuesday.

It's pink! And cute. Needs
the extra memory I
bought (here in two days).

Came with a webcam.
Funny stuff! Can capture still
pics and video.

Still two more days in
my long weekend. It's like
my Friday today!

I've been setting up
the new 'puter. No rush, as
the old one is fine.

Waiting for iTunes
to install. Need to pick up
PSP X2.
