haiku 10/31/2007

written 11/03/2007

Happy Halloween!
Weather is nice, perfect for
the trick-or-treaters.

Decided not to
hand out candy. It doesn't
feel like Halloween.

Made T a nice pre-
NaNo dinner. Alfredo,
shrimp, and brownies, too.

Rabbit Rabbited
at midnight, but decided
not to write quite yet.

haiku 10/30/2007

Daddy Perk was in
town! Just for the evening. Went
to dinner, came home.

Ice cream and F1
magazines. He's headed to
sunny Dayton.

Dinner at Outback.
Nice warm soup (on this chilly
night) and chicken, too.

Kimi is smiling
on Dad's Autosport! Lots of
good articles, too.

Tested Digital
Voice Recorder while on the
treadmill. Will work fine!

haiku 10/29/2007

written 10/30/2007

Monday Monday. How
many haiku can I start
like that? Guess we'll see.

Normal Monday, but
Terry offered to cook. I
stopped and got groceries.

Came home and worked on
novel prep. Read Exeter
handbook; drew school map.

Answered deep questions:
character's biggest flaws? What
drives her, makes her tick?

Wrote on lots of note
cards. Still optimistic that
NaNo will go well.

haiku 10/28/2007

Slept late again! This
is becoming a habit.
Gorgeous, sunny day.

Made breakfast. Went to
Trader Joe's for fixins for
chili for dinner.

Picked up a little
digital voice recorder
to use for NaNo.

(While on treadmill or
driving. Not easy to write
while doing those things.)

Chili was good, but
different. Also got pumpkin
cake. Very yummy!

Started to reread
A Wrinkle in Time: one of
my favorite books.

Watched TV, prepped for
NaNo. It was a nice day.
Now, four-day work week.

haiku 10/27/2007

~ 7:06 a.m. ~

To walk, or not to
walk. That is the question. It
is still raining. Ugh.

~ 3:41 p.m. ~

Skipped the walk. Fell back
to sleep and got up around
ten-thirty. So late!

~ 7:59 p.m. ~

Made nifty spreadsheet
to track my NaNoWriMo
word count next month. Cool.

~ 11:42 p.m. ~

Working on school for
novel. Modeling after
Phillips Exeter.

Still need a name for
the school. Granger, Lewiston,
Winslow, Cavendish?

Hampton, Havelock,
Abingdon, Windsor, Swansea,
Haverhill, Chelmsford?

Hmm... Chamberlain or
Westover or Reading? Or...?
I'll pick one of those.

The characters? Elle
Chambers, Danni Dean, Maxwell
Dillon, Mat Jackson. *

These are the good guys.
Toying with naming the bad
guy Eric Barlow. *

All names subject to
change depending on my mood,
and word count status.

haiku 10/26/2007

-written for Haiku Friday-

Don't we all need some
cheery haiku on dreary
Friday? Yes, we do!

First, we all complain
it's too dry, and now it's just
too wet. One more day?

Weekend looks normal.
Memory Walk in DC
tomorrow - maybe.

Dress shopping for two
weddings in the next three weeks.
(One's in Vegas, yeah!)

What's on your plate for
the weekend? Halloween prep?
World Series watching?

- later, at home-

Work was okay - lunch
ou
t for Joe's going-away.
Worked out in work gym.

Catching up on last
night's T.V. then, maybe will
watch tonight's new shows.

Happy for weekend.
So rainy, but soon to clear.
Hoping to relax.

haiku 10/25/2007

-written 10/25/2007-

Glad when work day was
over. Not an easy day.
Came home and releaxed.

Took some photos for
happy list and haiku. Hard
Times chili dinner.

(T picked it up on
his way home.) Watched T.V. and
worked on book outline.

haiku 10/24/2007

Went into D.C.
and visited the Portrait
Gallery with work.

First, ate at the Chop-
house. Yummy chicken sandwich.
Bacon-cheese goodness.

The gallery was
packed with expressive faces.
Paintings, sculputres, more.

Took some photos. Tried
to frame the art so that you
would see something new.

haiku 10/23/2007

-written 10/24/2007-

Hmm, I can barely
remember anything that
happened yesterday.

Umm... crazy work. For
dinner, leftovers. Before
that, worked out. Then, House!

haiku 10/22/2007

-1:23 a.m.-

Been outlining for
my NaNo novel. Told T,
and he's been helping.

Have characters (five!),
general storyline, and
some good details, too.

Should be good to go
once Nov. first rolls around. Now
I really can't wait!

There was some minor
drama in Brazil after
the race. Gafaffle!

But it worked out - the
FIA didn't go nuts.
Kimi is still champ!

-afternoon-

Yesterday's haiku
was so long! Twenty-seven
stanzas! On and on!

I'm sure that when this
is all done, that will be the
longest day, or close.

haiku 10/21/2007

written at work

Nothing says fun like
still being at work at 3
on Sunday morning.

~ an F1 championship decided, in haiku ~

The race has started.
Good starts for Kimi, and that
other guy - Freddy.

But Lewis made a
mistake and is stuck back in
seventh. Drive drive drive!

Oh no! Some sort of
problem with Lewis' car.
He's back in eighteenth.

Massa is leading.
Kimi in second, Freddy
in third. Oh, Lewis!

First round of stops done.
Massa, Kimi, Freddy. And
Lewis in fourteenth.

How will Ferrari
get Kimi past Massa? In
the pits for certain.

Lewis up to twelfth.
Slowly clawing his way back.
Stuck behind Vettel.

Ninth! He's up to ninth.
Kimi second, Freddy fourth.
Don't know who would win?

Kimi and Freddy
would be tied, I think. Not sure
about tiebreakers.

More than halfway done.
Most nerve-wracking race that I
ever remember.

Lewis is in eighth.
More pit stops coming. Kimi
into first place now??

(McDreamy does voice-
overs for Mazda ads! Too
bad it's only voice.)

Only twenty-two
laps left. If it ended now
Freddy would win it.

KIMI INTO THE
LEAD!! If they finish as-is,
Kimi wins it all!

Aah, I can't take it!
It's just too much! Thank god it's
not always like this!

Hamilton fastest
lap. Too little, too late? He's
still stuck down in 8th.

Eleven laps left.
Kubica just had a great
pass! So much drama!

Down to ten laps left!
Drivers are all over the
place! Craziest race!

Six left. Lewis is
really trying. Looks like it
will be Kimi's race.

Kimi Fastest Lap
with five left. He's not messing
around. Almost there!

ONE LAP LEFT. This
is it! C'mon, just finish
as-is! Almost!!! Yay!

HE WON! KIMI WON!
Feel bad for Lewis; thank god
it wasn't Freddy.

Lewis will have so
many chances, I think. At
least Kimi got one!!

Kimi can smile! Who
knew? It all fell right for him
today. Finally!

Now I have a new
lucky shirt. My Senna T.
The great Brazilian.

So many months 'til
the '08 season starts. Need
to take a long nap.

haiku 10/20/2007

written at maintenance

Here I sit at work
on a quiet Saturday
night. Hubby's here, too.

Rebooting, how fun.
Restarting, even more fun.
Installing stuff, YAY!

We got pizza for
dinner, but this time it was
crappy Ledo's. Blech.

I don't care if they
don't cut corners. It doesn't
improve the pizza.

So, I brought with me
a salad from Chicken Out.
It was not crappy.

I don't mind weekend
work too much, since it's just once
a month. Could be worse.

Looking forward to
tomorrow - and to Monday,
which I have off, yay!

On my second Sprite
Zero. That's my beverage
of choice for these nights.

I'm in charge of snacks,
and bought some fun things. But now
they're hard to ignore.

I should buy snacks I
don't like! Then I won't be so
tempted. Out out, snacks.

So, here I sit. Snacks
tempting, servers rebooting,
waiting, waiting. Snore.

written not for maintenance

Quali for Brazil
was today. Massa took his
sixth for the season.

It all comes down to
tomorrow's race! As long as
Freddy doesn't win!!

I'll be happy with
either Kimi or Lewis
winning the title.

haiku 10/19/2007

Nice day off. Slept in,
ran two miles, watched F1
practice in Brazil.

(Rainy in Brazil.
Huge race this weekend.) Also
took photos outside.

Ran errands. Post-its,
V.B. slippers, some new pens,
a cute new notebook.

The new notebook is
for NaNoWriMo. I am
fairly sure I'll try.

I have yet to tell
Terry about it. He will
think I'm a nutbar.

But, I have my new
notebook and pens. I signed up
on the website, too.

Over the next few
days, I will try to make some
notes about a plot.

Will I be able
to write that much, and also
haiku every day?

And make dinner? And
run? And take photos? And go
to Vegas? And breathe?

haiku 10/18/2007

I seem to have no
good haiku ideas lately.
Am I all dried up?

Tomorrow starts a
nice four-day weekend. Have to
work Saturday night.

But the rest of the
time? All sorts of fun things to
do. Let's get started!

haiku 10/17/2007

Our new red toaster
oven arrived today! It's
shiny and lovely.

Already used for
broiling and cookies. It'll
be really handy!

haiku 10/16/2007

National Boss Day!
What did I get? Red roses
and a monkey card!

Delivered to my
office - a complete surprise!
We love monkey cards.

The fun surprise was
from Hubby, of course, since he
likes to call me "Boss" :)

I received my new
lens from Amazon today!
It's big and fancy.

Now I'm really a
big dork. So says the monkey
card-buying husband.

So many photos
waiting to be taken! Long
weekend, here I come.

haiku 10/15/2007

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip
cookies at work today. Filled
with pumpkin goodness.

Worked out today for
the sixth time in seven days.
My treadmill, my love.

Do you know what is
rapidly approaching? What
arrives in two weeks?

NaNoWriMo. Do
I have fifty-thousand words
to put on paper?

Can I even write
in a format other than
haiku? I doubt it.

Fifty-thousand words
sure would be rather a lot
of haiku to write!

haiku 10/14/2007

Status: Normal. Store,
breakfast, Sunday nap. Workout,
dinner, TV. Done!

High School Musical:
bought it yesterday. Watched it
today - a few times!

Haven't yet watched the
"Learn the Moves" video. Won't
that be quite the hoot?

Today marks two months
of my haiku project! Two-
hundred ten stanzas!

Time to get the new
book underway. Will publish
two months in this one.

Ten months, one-thousand
stanzas left. Are you set to
keep reading with me?

So much work to do

Haiku Volume 1
arrived today! Cute! Fun to
see how colors looked.

Also, Alltaglich
Folio No. Two. More great
sketches by Megan.

I think the next I
publish (Vol 2) will be two
month's worth. Thicker book!

And cheaper for two
together, thank two unique
books. Will start it soon!

(The design that is.
The haiku are already
written, and blogged, too :) )

Also, making pact
that I will take many more
pics in the next month.

There are only a
few from the past few weeks. They
really add to it.

As the project goes
on, it can certainly grow.
Evolve, if you will.

Someone did indeed
buy Haiku Vol. 1 on blurb!
Thanks, surprise reader!

haiku 10/07/2007

written in early A.M.

Pridde's b-party
was tonight! Dinner, drinks, and
cake down in D.C.

The race in China
has begun. Fifty-six laps,
then Hamilton champ?

Oh no! Lewis beached
it on his way into the
pits. He's done today.

Now, we need Kimi
to win and Freddy to not
finish. Go, Kimi!!

written later in day

Using a new pen.
"Indigo" is its shade. A
nice greenish-blue hue.

So, Kimi won! But
Alonso finished second.
All three have a shot.

Yesterday, I found
a farmers' market in the
Kentlands. Small but nice.

Didn't buy any
veggies, though. Really wanted
peaches, but no-go.

Instead, I found a
cute "snuggle blankie" and nice
handmade cards to buy.

Up at two a.m.
for Chinese qualifying.
Took a nice couch nap.

Big hub-bub. Lewis
to lose last week's points? Mosley

There is a chance of

Wetter than Japan?

Lewis on pole - sixth

Freddy in fourth - ha.

Had blurb idea for
